A Skincare Favorite

I have sensitive, combination skin that’s also acne prone, so finding products that work well with my skin always seems like a never ending battle. After getting my first facial a few months ago, I was turned on to this Lapis Facial Oil from Herbivore Botanicals. At first, I was totally freaked out at the thought of my esthetician putting oil onto my already oily skin, but, to my surprise, it didn’t break me out at all. In fact, it hydrated my skin and calmed my problem zones.

I used the sample I got from my visit for a few weeks and loved it — the price tag was a little too high for me to buy after just a few uses — but I’m convinced I need to stock up for real this time. The company behind the facial oil explains that the oil has gotten it’s miracle product status thanks to a component called Azulene. This is a “powerful anti-inflammatory and antibacterial that aids in reducing redness and clarifying the complexion.” Sounds good to me…. Also the oil is “formulated for combination, oily, and blemish-prone skin types or any skin in need of relief from inflammation.” Again, sounds like a winner, right? You can also grab this oil at Sephora.

The oil comes in two sizes: a large 1.7 oz bottle ($72) and a small 0.3 oz roller ball (see above).
